COVINGTON -- A 17-year-old female faces child molestation charges after she allegedly falsely reported to the Newton County Sheriff's Office that she was the victim of such a crime.
Keia Vantrece Amos, 17, 95 Sampson Ct., has been arrested and charged with child molestation; aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and false report of a crime.
According to NCSO Lt. Tyrone Oliver, Amos reported that she was the victim of inappropriate touching and when investigators responded to the scene, they concluded that such an incident may have happened, but if it did, it occurred several years ago and in another jurisdiction.
"But in the course of their investigation, she was found to have shown pornographic pictures to juveniles and they have evidence to prove it," Oliver said, adding that youngsters ages 13, 8 and 6 were in the home, but he was unsure which juveniles had actually seen the photos.
