Golden Arches cuisine available soon Workers are putting the finishing touches on the new and improved McDonald's restaurant on U.S. 278 set to reopen the week of May 7. The restaurant was opened originally on that site in March of 1975 and has served a lot of Happy Meals and other menu favorites since that time. The new facility will feature a new play place and updated decor and seating, according to owner Bruce Vineyard. - Staff photo by Lee Depkin

It's a complete waste to demolish a good bldg and put up a new one. I guess McDonald's has money to burn if they can do this. They did the same thing to the McDonald's in McDonough near the WalMart some years ago. The only upside to this is that the original bldg and parking lot where those children were ran over by that worthless person back in 2006 is no longer there. He deliberately did that because he had cancer and knew that the jail system would provide medical care. Witnesses said that they saw him laughing while he drove over those kids, who were the children of a pastor. They don't have any medical care where he is now...

If you have noticed any of the new McDonald's built in the last few years no longer have a play area for young people and less Mom's having birthdays at the arches. Operational costs will go down - i.e. less space to heat & cool, less clean-up labor, lower liability insurance (no doubt they've been sued when a little one get hurt), etc.
Mc D's has the money to spend on up dating buildings, if not you still would be going to the outside walk-up hutches of the 1960's and eating outside or your car.

It's a waste to spend money on a dining area anyway. They should just confine it to drive thru traffic. Less space to clean. Most people don't want to sit in a McDonald's a watch the parade of freaks. If McDs were smart they would build these like Sonics. Drive thru traffic and an outdoor eating area only. Take the kids to a park if you want to let them play and not these indoor petri dishes.

Mc D's must be doing something right they've been around for close to 60 years and still #1 in fast food.

And Titanic is the top money making movie of all time. Never underestimate the poor taste of the American people.

Guess that is why so many people have & still want to immigrate to the United States.
