COVINGTON -- The Rotary Club of Covington will once again host the annual Cars of the Past Covington Car Show from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, on the downtown Square.
In its 19th year, the Cars of the Past Covington Car Show is a fundraiser for the Rotary Club, helping support community projects such as the Empty Stocking Fund for needy children at Christmas.
Last year's Rotary-sponsored show drew 300 antique car and truck entries and more than 3,000 spectators.
According to Rotary's Lanier Sims, who spearheads the car show each year, the Cars of the Past show is for any vehicle 25 years old or older.
Trophies will be awarded to the top 100 cars and 10 best of trophies will be awarded, including Best of Show, Rotary Pick of Show, Best Custom and Best Original.
Cars can be registered for $20 each; day of show registration is $25 each. Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at noon.
The show is free to the public. Local vendors will sell food and drinks during the event. There will also be a 50-50 raffle. Tickets can be purchased at $1 for one ticket; $5 for 10 tickets; and $20 for tickets that stretch the length of a car. The winner will split the raffle pot with the Rotary Club.
For more information or to pre-register a vehicle, visit www.covingtoncarshow.com or call 404-787-2852.
