Rockdale's volleyball team improved to 6-1 in Area 8-AAAA play with a 2-1 win over rival Heritage Tuesday in Conyers. The Bulldogs won the first game, 25-22, then dropped the middle game 25-21 before rallying for a 25-19 win to clinch the match. Rockdale, which also defeated Houston County 2-1 (25-23, 15-25, 25-19) got 10 kills from Abby Bradford in the win over Heritage, while Libby Bradford had 41 assists in the two matches. Kendra Lackey had 19 kills and Brittany Frost (11 kills) and Alycia Johnson (8 kills) were big contributors as well.
"I was so proud of our team for staying focused all night and pushing through on both third games," said Rockdale coach Stephen Sansing, whose team moved to 21-7 overall. "That was a great night of volleyball, but it always is when Heritage and Rockdale get together."
