School staff and students wanted to show their appreciation and, at the same time, honor the memory of Sept. 11. Ryan Gutierrez (left) of the Federal Reserve spent the morning with his daughter Makayla Gutierrez, a kindergartener, son third-grader Andrew Guttierrez and their uncle Brandon Wilkerson of the Covington Police Department. Joining them were first-grader Eli Weekly with his dad Nigel Ballard of the Newton County Fire Department.
Mansfield Elementary School held a special breakfast on Monday to honor local first responders. School staff and students wanted to show their appreciation and, at the same time, honor the memory of Sept. 11.
