Covington Alcovy gets on the scoreboard first when Elijah Jones caught a Cornell White pass for a touchdown with 7:42 in the first quarter.
The Tigers got the ball back on a Curtiss Benton interception making it possible for White to connect with Kenard Murray for a 40-yard touchdown with 5:05 in the opening period.
However, the 14-point did not last long as Starr's Mill running back John Smith ran it for 65 yards less than a minute later.
Starr's Mill took advantage of an Alcovy miscue on a punt taking the ball 37 yards in four plays for the tying score with 7:38 remaining in the opening half.
But the game did not stay tied for all. Following a 43-yard kickoff return by Devon Edwards, White found Murray for a 29-yard touchdown three plays later with 6:27 left.
Both teams traded field goals, a 29-yarder by the Panthers' Austin Ingram and a 33-yarder Rysen Richardson for Alcovy, in the final three minutes to maintain Alcovy's 7-point lead.
After recovering a Starr's Mill fumble, Richardson connected with a 45-yard field goal with no time left on the clock to give the Tigers a 27-17 halftime lead.
Starr's Mill drove the ball down the field in their first possession of the third frame to close the gap to 27-24 on a 2-yard Dylan Autera run.
However, the Tigers were able to put 13-points on the board inside of 15 seconds on a White found Murray open for a 38-yard pass before Edwards ran it 47-yards following a fumble recovery on the kickoff.
