Special Photo ---- The newly formed FFA chapter of Piedmont Academy held a show calf clinic at Hunter Pope's house. The students learned daily care for their animals, feeding instructions, washing and preparing for shows and had a mock show at the Pope's house. Melindy Bradley of Town and Country was on hand with halters, lead ropes, feed and buckets for the students. Instructors for the day included Daniel Hyatt, Todd Christian, Crystal Powell and Brent and Beth Galloway. Students from Piedmont that will be showing calves this school year are Hunter Pope, Preston Tyler, Matti Smith, Wyatt Galloway and Cheyenne Galloway. Bradley Mitchell, Monticello High School FFA student, and Eli Smallwood, Jasper County 4-H'er, attended the clinic as well. Other students in attendance for the clinic were Grayson and Beau Bradley, Cody Blackmon and Hannah and Haley Tyler. The clinic finished with a cookout hosted by the Pope family. The Piedmont Academy FFA has started its FFA Alumni Chapter, which is a booster club for the FFA.
