This week's recipe, a chicken melt sandwich, is a man's meal, and it is compliments of my husband, Kevin.
As some of you know, we are expecting our first child and my cravings haven't gotten too wild or too frequent yet, but I have had a couple of them. With that said, I was wanting some food from Steak n' Shake a couple of weeks back. So he graciously brought us home some one evening.
Steak n' Shake makes a great hamburger, but one of our very favorite things to eat there is their frisco melt.
It is a beef patty smothered with slices of cheese and a special sauce on sourdough bread and then grilled. We think the special sauce is something along the lines of thousand island dressing, only better.
Kevin got the idea of making a sandwich like that at home. But instead of beef, he used chicken.
After making the sandwich several times, he came to the conclusion that either he didn't like the thousand island dressing or that his favorite dressing in the whole wide world, ranch -- which makes everything taste better according to him -- would definitely make this chicken melt taste awesome. So there you have it, a manly sandwich.
