William “Bill” F. Clements of Covington, GA died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Newton Medical Center. He was born on March 1, 1931 in Dallas, TX to William and Daisy A. Henry Clements. Mr. Clements was retired from the US Army after serving 26 years. He served in Korea and Vietnam and was a First Sargeant upon his retirement in 1976. Mr. Clements is survived by wife of 62 years Gela Clements of Covington; daughter Nancy Hanley and husband Michael Hanley and their family of Conyers; brother’s-in-law Bob Maxfield and Leslie Fauts; nieces and nephews Michael Maxfield, Andrew Maxfield, Nicole Maxfield-Hooks, Mary Vasquez, Frances George, Jeanne Maxfield; very dear in-laws in Germany, Herbert, Brigitta, Andrea and Charlie, Erica and Erwin, Kim, Christian, wife and children, just to name a few; loving neighbors and friends Judy and Kurt Frazer, Clint Davenport, Connie and Billy Hunt and their children John Hunt and Deanna Burke, Kevin Burke, Barrett Burke, Angelina Burke, Phil and Vicky Robinson, as well as many long time friends from his home state of Texas and his very special 4-legged companions, Lady, Gidget, Peaches, and Teddy. He is preceded in death by parents William and Daisy A. Henry Clements, sister Joan Clements Maxfield. Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 29, 2011 in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday October 28, 2011 from 6:00-7:30PM.
