COVINGTON - The Newton County Library is hosting a free workshop focusing on resume writing, job search and interviewing skills from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Covington branch.
The Northeast Georgia Regional Commission is hosting the event. Participants must pre-register prior to the day of the workshop by calling 770-385-6449 or visiting the library information desk in person.
The commission receives Workforce Investment Act funds that allow it to offer free workshops.
"I thought it was great with the job market where it is," said Stevin Herald, who oversees the library's information desk. "They help people with resumes, go over different (internet) sites to search jobs and the best way to search."
Job interviewing skills instruction and assistance with resumes will also be offered.
Space is limited to 10 slots so each participant can receive personalized instruction, he said.
"They really do personalize it for these people. They have a question and answer session where they help each person…They won't write a resume but they will go over how it should look," Herald said.
The Covington branch is located at 7116 Floyd Street NE.
