Newton Citizen
This female kitty looks like she's stuck her face in the pudding bowl, but it's just her unique coloring. She's on the lookout for someone to love her. She's only eight weeks old and would love a new home. She can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.
Questions to ask before adopting a pet:
Can I make a long-term commitment to this pet?
Will I be able to spend enough time with a new pet?
Am I prepared for the cost a new pet will bring?
Which pet is right for my home and my family?
