Covington Fire hosts Family Fun Night

Firefighters Danny Garner and Randy Ross look at plans for where to place participants in the Covington Fire Department's Family Fun Night set for Thursday in the east parking lot of the Covington Walmart. Representatives from a variety of public safety agencies and others will be on hand. The fun begins at 6 p.m. and will feature exhibits designed to entertain and educate. Everything is free except for food. For those who really want to make a night of it, the public is also invited to a free Cyber Safety Summit sponsored by the Newton County Sheriff's Office at The Church at Covington on Ga. Highway 142. That event will be open to parents and children over 12 from 6-9 p.m. and is designed to teach Internet safety.
