Jack Guttmann, age 75, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Epiphany Lutheran Church, with Rev. John Beckman officiating. A native of St. Louis, MO, Mr. Guttmann retired after 40 years of service from Norfolk Southern Railroad Corporation and served in the US Army. He was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and will fondly be remembered as a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend. Jack never met a stranger and enjoyed making new friends, he brightened every place he visited with his distinctive voice and joyful laughter and loyalty. He is survived by: his wife, Linda Powell Guttmann of Covington; daughter, Jackie Lynn Becker of Smyrna; sons, John A. Guttmann of Conyers, James W. Guttmann of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Melissa B. (William) Harper of Jacksonville, FL, Joshua A. Guttmann of Roanoke, VA; great-granddaughter, McKenzie R.
