Mrs. Celia A. Sellers, 88, of Conyers passed away November 25, 2011. She was born in Culloden, GA, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Zachary Abercombie. Celia was a dedicated military wife for 56 years to the late SFC Gad Sellers, and lived in Japan ,Atlanta and Ellenwood. She worked for the State of Georgia before retiring after 38 years, and enjoyed sewing, gardening and watching the Atlanta Braves on TV. She was preceded in death by her daughter Betty Jean Mitchell of Stockbridge, and Walter Rex (Buster) Sellers of Ellenwood. Celia is survived by her daughter Celia Ann and Steve Jessup of Conyers; sister Dorothy Jackson of Russellville, AL, brother Junior Abercombieof Macon; grandchildren Angela and Michael Richardson of Stockbridge, Jake and Rachel Mitchell of Locust Grove, Andrew and Adrian Mitchell of McDonough, Shannon and Zane Martin of Locust Grove and Jessie Helms. Celia enjoyed being around her 5 great-grandchildren Austin, Mikayla, Aubree, Ashlynn and Natalie. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday November 27, 2011 at 2 pm in the Fairview Chapel of Horis A. Ward with Jerry Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens. Bomb scare leads to Wal-Mart evacuation

CONYERS -- About 100 employees and customers at Wal-Mart on Dogwood Drive were evacuated at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday following a bomb scare that was relayed to the Conyers Police Department from a woman in New York.

A native of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, Glenna retired from Fulton Co. DFCS after 30 years of service. She attended The University of KY in Louisville and was a talented actress. Mrs. Fay Gregg, age 71 of Rutledge, widow of Dick Gregg, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Ricky Haynes, Rutledge, Sandra and Richard Ogden, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Brian Ogden, Dallas, TX, Casey Haynes, Chad Haynes, both of Rutledge; brother and sister-in-law, Richard Law and Barbara Shott, Littleton, CO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Shirley Gregg, Carson City, NV; nieces, Cindy Roy, Susie Repp, Littleton, CO, Julie Duran, Snowmass, VA, Kim Wolfe, Elkton, VA, Sherryl Foster, Santa Clara, UT, Tiffany Gregg, Sandpoint ID; nephews, David Gregg, Robert Gregg. She moved to Littleton, CO at the age of 7 and graduated from Littleton High School. She then attended Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City and graduated with a Merit Certificate. She earned her living at various secretarial jobs over the years. Fay loved working with her husband, the late Dick Gregg, learning the appraisal business, gardening, and taking care of the various pets who adopted her. E.E. (Papa Gene) Mullinax of Covington, GA died Friday November 25, 2011 at his residence. He was born on July 14, 1921 in Pelzer, SC to Thomas Ervin and Agnes Thompson Mullinax. He was a member of Prospect United Methodist Church and was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Covington. Mr. Mullinax is survived by caregiver and friend Esther Mullinax of Covington, GA; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Mark Mullins of Gray Court, SC; son and daughter-in-law Rick and Lori Mullinax of Fayetteville, GA; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, three step-children and three step-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents Thomas Ervin and Agnes Thompson Mullinax, grandson Justin Mullinax, and daughter Patricia Forrester. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday November 28, 2011 at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in College Park with Rev. Ronnie Brannan officiating. Ruth Gartenhaus Smith, 88, of Conyers, passed away November 23, 2011, at Hospice House of Conyers, surrounded by her family and friends. She was a long-time, active member of Canaan Baptist Church, in Covington, where she was involved with the Sunshine Fellowship group; and a faithful supporter of the church and its mission projects. She was the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Jacob Gartenhaus of Atlanta, GA and Chattanooga, TN, who were founders of the International Board of Jewish Missions. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, James. A. Smith. Survivors include her two sisters, Miriam Stanly of Lawrenceville, Frances Hardy of Signal Mountain, TN; brother, Paul Gartenhaus of Ringgold, GA; 4 nieces and 6 nephews; and many close and cherished friends. Rockdale elections board moves forward on at-large appointment
