COVINGTON -- Local attorney Stephanie R. Lindsey has announced her candidacy for Superior Court judge in the Alcovy Circuit. The nonpartisan election is set for July 31.
Lindsey will run in opposition to the Honorable John Ott.
She is the first African-American female seeking a contested judicial seat in the Superior Court in the Alcovy Judicial Circuit.
"While she is honored to be acknowledged as a first, she intends the focus of her campaign on her unwavering commitment to justice and the community," according to a printed press release announcing her candidacy.

Another member of the NewRock Legal Society running for Judicial office. My only suprise is she is the only one running in Newton County so far. The group is trying to take over Rockdale County's Jusicial System and I guess they want Newton County too. People need to take a long look at their website and see what the organization is all about.
