Dr. James C. Crutcher passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2011 attended to by his family. He excelled in his many careers. His key positions included: Emory University Professor of Medicine and Professor of Health Science; Atlanta VA Hospital Associate Chief of Medical Services; National VA Chief Medical Director; Brigadier General in US Army Reserve Medical Corps; Regional Health Director for Gwinnett and Rockdale Counties. He was most proud of being a devoted Dad to his children who cherished him. He was pre-deceased by his wife Frances L. Crutcher and his oldest son James M. Crutcher. He is survived by Edith C. Crutcher, the mother of his children, and his remaining children: Carole C. Hauert of Powder Springs, GA; Deborah J. Darugar of Eatonton, GA; Dr. Kenneth L. Crutcher of Little River, SC; and Bruce G. Crutcher of Hazel Green, AL. A private ceremony was held at Arlington Memorial park in Sandy Springs, GA. While we mourn his loss we celebrate his life.
