Newton Citizen
This poor little boy has had a bad start in life and he deserves to hit the jackpot with a new home. He, along with two other kittens, were found at the landfill and taken to the animal shelter. This little guy is a domestic short-hair cat with orange coloring and is bob-tailed. He's believed to be about 7 weeks old. He can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption. The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten. Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals.
The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.
