Bailey's Food Pride robbed at gunpoint Friday morning

COVINGTON -- The Newton County Sheriff's Office is reporting that Bailey's Food Pride at 5890 Salem Road was robbed by two armed and masked men Friday morning.

Two black men, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, both approximately 6 feet tall, entered the store with a handgun which was brandished at the cashier. The 29-year-old clerk said the men did not say anything, but the robber with the handgun walked over to the cash register and removed an undisclosed amount of money from the drawer, according to NCSO Public Information Courtney Morrison.

The two were both dressed in gray hoodies and were wearing black masks. One had on a pair of black jeans.

They left on foot around 9:15 a.m. headed in the direction of Salem Road and Ga. Highway 81.
