COVINGTON -- Newton County Sheriff's Office investigators have arrested one man and are seeking a second in connection with the rape of a 32-year-old Covington woman.
Marvin Cleo Jackson, 57, of 98 Sockwell Road, Oxford, has been arrested and charged with rape in connection with the April 8 incident.
Investigators have issued warrants and are searching for Jackson's nephew, 32-year-old Antonio Dealantay West of Covington, on charges of party to a crime, rape and pimping.
According to NCSO spokesman Lt. Keith Crum, the victim notified authorities around 11:30 p.m. on April 8, stating she was forced to have sex against her will around 3:30 that afternoon.
"She knew West and had a prior relationship with him. He had abused her physically, threatened her and intimidated her and allegedly pimped her to his uncle who had sex with her against her will at a Newton County residence," Crum said, adding that the woman said West had received payment for turning her over to his uncle.
"Investigators have conducted interviews, arrested one of the suspects and there is an outstanding warrant for West and we are actively seeking him," Crum said.
Anyone who has information on this incident or the whereabouts of West can call 911 or the NCSO directly at 678-625-1400.
