COVINGTON -- The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday night around 7:15 on Interstate 20, snarling traffic for about an hour.
Dead is Recabie Riviere, 38, of Lithonia.
Riviere was stopped in a Toyota in the westbound emergency lane near the Almon Road exit, according to GSP spokesman Lt. Paul Cosper, when she was struck by a Ford van.
Cosper said the driver of the van was transported by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
"SCRT (Specialized Crash Reconstruction Team) will be investigating the crash and all charges will be pending the completion of the investigation," Cosper said.
