Beryl Budd, chief ranger for the Georgia Forestry Commission, spoke at the March meeting of the Satsuki Garden Club and is shown here accepting a token of appreciation from club program chairman Beverly Copeland. He presented a slide program detailing the Covington Historic Tree Inventory which was compiled in 2003. The inventory contains more than 12,000 trees which were cataloged within the Covington city limits. Budd talked about ways of caring for and preserving the trees. The Satsuki Garden club is now making preparations for National Library Week (April 10-16). Club members are planning floral designs around books chosen by the librarian, including the one featured here. The displays can be viewed by library patrons beginning Tuesday, April 11, and continuing through April 16.
