COVINGTON -- Undercover officers with the Newton County Sheriff's Office, attached to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, have arrested a Cumming man after an investigation that began in August.
Andrew Vincent Skelhorn, 33, of 101 Rosewood Lane, has been charged with sexual exploitation of children, electronically furnishing obscene material to a minor and computer pornography. He was arrested in Cumming on Tuesday and taken to the Newton County Detention Center.
Skelhorn had been chatting via the Internet with a person he believed to be a 13-year-old girl and sent obscene material to her via the computer, according to NCSO spokesman Lt. Tyrone Oliver.
"There had been some chatting about meeting, but that never materialized," Oliver said.
Skelhorn is an unmarried former student who is unemployed.
