COVINGTON -- Federal, state and local authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who robbed the Pinnacle Bank in Social Circle on Thursday morning about 9:45.
A $5,000 reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the robber.
"The man handed the teller a note indicating he had a gun and demanded cash," said Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead. "He fled with an undisclosed amount of money."
Bankhead said the robber's mode of transportation or direction of travel are not known.
Officers with the Social Circle Department of Public Safety and agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the GBI are investigating the case.
The robber is described as a black man with short dreadlocks, in his 20s, around 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.
