Rising sixth-grader Jai Brooks tackles something before school starts that is usually a challenge to those entering middle school — she's learning to open her locker at Clements Middls School during a day camp session held for new students. Middler schoolers throughout Newton County were at day camp sessions at their respective schools Thursday and learned about such topics as clubs, college readiness, school rules, dress code, study skills and more.More like this story
