Airport Road work to begin Monday

The Georgia Department of Transportation has issued an encroachment permit for Newton County to begin improvements to Airport Road and Ga. Highway 142, according to County Engineer Tom Garrett. Work is expected to begin Monday, weather permitting.

The Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, which includes part of Rockdale County, is the focus of a Georgia Outdoors program. Produced by Georgia Public Broadcasting, the program discusses the natural, historical and cultural significance of the area in and around Arabia and Panola mountains.
