Chillin' at camp
It was a hot one Wednesday. As temperatures rose, campers with the Covington Family YMCA Summer Day Camp moved inside and became involved in quiet activities. DOT processing permit for Airport Road/Ga. 142 work
COVINGTON -- The Georgia Department of Transportation is rushing to issue an encroachment permit to Newton County so work can begin on temporary improvements to Airport Road/Ga. Highway 142 in order to be completed when school starts Aug. 4.
Porterdale to meet on millage rate
PORTERDALE -- The city will hold a meeting at 6:30 p.m. July 28 for the purpose of setting its 2011 millage rate.
