Super Bowl Sunday is almost here. I have been saving this new recipe -- hot wing soup -- to share with everyone until we knew who would be competing for the championship.
Let it be known that I will be cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. If I didn't, the biggest Steelers fan I know, my brother-in-law Keith Wells, might just have something else to pick at me about.
We are a football family. Keith loves to give me a hard time about being a Georgia Bulldog fan; he is a Tennessee Volunteers fan. He often reminds me when we speak, or even text, of when Tennessee beat Georgia; the score (clearing my throat) was 45 to 19.
So, this column is for Keith, who might even have Jeff Gillespie, our sports editor, beat in the Steelers fan department.
This recipe is good. It is creamy and spicy. I had never even heard of it before I decided to make it for this column. I decided to give it a try because I figured my husband Kevin would like it -- he loves hot wings.
If you are preparing for a big party, combine the ingredients in a Crock-pot, sit back and enjoy your "souper bowl" day.
And Keith, enjoy waving your yellow towel with the thousands of other Steelers fans at Super Bowl XLV.
