Some of Lisa Cook's friends and family have survived cancer. Others have succumbed to the disease.
Cook is determined to keep hammering away at cures for cancer by participating, for the 18th time, in the Rockdale County Relay for Life, a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society.
Both the Rockdale and Newton Relay for Life events take place on April 29 this year. Cook urges the community to start a Relay team or join one.
