CONYERS -- Interstate 20 in Rockdale County was partially reopened Tuesday after being closed since Monday when several stalled vehicles and accidents blocked the roadway.
Conyers spokeswoman Jennifer Edwards said in an email alert that I-20 eastbound in Conyers reopened with one lane of traffic on the eastbound side open.
Also, I-20 westbound was reopened, but traffic at the West Avenue exit is being rerouted off of the interstate with reentry the interstate at the Sigman Road exit 78 due to ice remaining on the roadway, Edwards said.
Conyers Police and officials with the Georgia Department of Transportation have been working together since Monday afternoon to clear the interstate after a jack-knifed tractor trailer and several stalled vehicles blocked all lanes.
More updates to follow throughout the day.
