Newton County Schools are closed Monday.
"Following consultation with various weather authorities in our area, we are canceling school in Newton County for Monday, January 10, 2011, in anticipation of a winter storm," said NCSS Superintendent Gary Mathews in an e-mail to employees Sunday afternoon. "It is likely that the same will be true for Tuesday, but we are waiting until sometime tomorrow (Monday) to make that call." This includes all school and system employees, according to Sherri Davis-Viniard, director of Public Relations for NCSS. Additionally, Georgia Perimeter College has canceled all Monday classes, according to its Web site. Stay tuned for more updates.More like this story
