Two Piedmont Academy students, Alex Parrish from Covington, left, and Kevin Davis from Jackson, right, recently participated in the GISA Spelling Bee, which was held at Mr. de Sales Academy in Macon.
With an extremely challenging word list, each student represented his school well. Davis, a fifth grader, placed third and will progress to round two in two weeks. Parrish, an eighth grader, came in 13 place. The top ten spellers from a group of 40 are allowed to continue to round two which will be held at The Walker School in Marietta. All students participating in the bee receive participation certificates. They are pictured with teacher Elizabeth Davis.
