If your looking for a really stunning kitty, this Persian male is only a year old and has recently had a hair cut. His silver coat is shiny and healthy and will be growing out to look really great. He's more than ready for a good home, as the noises at the shelter bother him quite a bit. He can be rescued and adopted at Newton County Animal Shelter, located at 210 Lower River Road in Covington. The shelter usually has between 20 to 30 dogs and an equal number of cats eligible for adoption.

The adoption fee for a dog or puppy is $25 and $10 for a cat or kitten.

Spaying/neutering is mandatory for all animals.

The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. The phone number is 770-786-9514. Anyone who has lost a pet is urged to go to the center and bring a photo of the missing animal.
