Early voting for the March 15 special election featuring the SPLOST referendum has been under way since Tuesday, but only a handful of ballots have been cast, according to workers at the Newton County Board of Elections office. Early voting takes place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday through March 11. The office is located in the Newton County Administration Building at 1113 Usher St.
