2011 Citizen all-area softball team
First team
Amanda Hawkins, senior, catcher, Eastside. Excellent numbers in every category, including average (.406), on-base percentage (.551), doubles (17), home runs (7) and RBIs (30).
Taylor Causey, senior, pitcher, Eastside. In 93 innings pitched, went 11-4 with an 0.83 ERA. Also hit .338 with 16 RBIs.
Kierra Camp, sophomore, pitcher, Heritage. Stepped in to No. 1 starter's role and was named Region 8-AAAA pitcher of the year. 16-7 with 1.33 ERA and 149 strike outs in 142 IP. At the plate, hit .346.
Rylee Rogers, junior, pitcher/infielder, Salem. Had a 2.40 ERA as ace of Seminoles' staff; hit .385 with a .584 on-base percentage.
Kia Sorrells, junior, shortstop, Alcovy. Hit. 385 with .398 OBP, while swiping 19 bases for the Tigers.
Kayla Phillips, senior, shortstop, Heritage. Excellent defensive infielder and hit .347 and was 15-for-15 in stolen bases.
India Davis, sophomore, shortstop, Rockdale. Team-high .471 batting average with 12 stolen bases for the Bulldogs.
Simone Davenport, senior, third baseman, Heritage. Outstanding defensive infielder, had .448 batting average with three home runs and 37 RBIs in middle of Patriots' order.
Chelsea Murphy, junior, outfielder, Alcovy. Team-high .397 batting average with a .426 OBP.
Breanna Richardson, junior, outfielder, Rockdale. Hit .388 with six home runs and drove in a team-high 16 runs.
Candace Johnson, junior, outfielder, Rockdale. Team-best .421 batting average while patrolling center field for the Bulldogs.
Second team
Morgan Beshears, sophomore, catcher, Alcovy. Hit .341 with a .400 OBP while driving in 14 runs.
Jordan Hilty, junior, outfielder, Alcovy. Hit .306 and drove in a team-high 22 runs.
Erin Steele, senior, outfielder, Eastside. Got on base at a .415 clip and was second on the team in average (.355) and hits (38).
Patricia Clark, junior, catcher. Salem. Hit .352 while handling the Seminoles' picking staff.
Taylor Beauchamp, junior, shortstop, Salem. Had a .474 OBP and drove in 17 runs.
Savannah Upshaw, junior, first baseman, Eastside. Hit .337 with a .446 OBP.
Whitney Lester, junior, pitcher/infielder, Salem. Had 2.70 ERA on the mound, while hitting .324 with a .402 OBP at the plate.
Nielah Floyd, junior, outfielder, Heritage. Stepped into a starting role and hit .373 with 22 runs scored and 12 stolen bases.
Keyanna Notae, senior, outfielder, Newton. Had .500 OBP and stole 15 bases for the Rams.
