Bernard Thompson had one of his finest games as a collegiate Monday.
Thompson, the former Rockdale star now at Florida Gulf Coast, had 16 points on 6-of-9 field goal attempts and added three assists and two steals in the Eagles' 80-75 loss to USC Upstate in an Atlantic Sun game. In 10 games (seven starts) Thompson is second on the team in scoring (10.9 points) and assists (22) and is third in rebounding (4.8). Gulf Coast hosts non-league foe Toledo, Thursday in Fort Myers.
Ware debuts for Cardinals
Another former Rockdale star, Kevin Ware, made his long-awaited collegiate debut for Louisville last Saturday. For the unbeaten and AP No. 4 Cardinals, Ware played six minutes, had a blocked shot and missed both of his field goal attempts. Louisville hosted College of Charleston on Tuesday and will host Western Kentucky on Friday.
