WAYCROSS -- The owner of a south Georgia McDonald's restaurant says a man walked in and bought $500 in gift cards, then handed them back to the manager and asked that they be used for the hungry and homeless.
Brian Fey, owner of the Waycross fast-food establishment, says the man left no name.
Fey said that he thinks the man's gift was a display of the true Christmas spirit.
Fey said he then took half the cards, which are in $25 increments as the buyer requested, to the Sweetwater Baptist Church homeless shelter in Waycross and was giving the rest to the Pierce County Food Pantry in Blackshear.
Fey also said he is matching the donation dollar-for-dollar and will double the number of cards contributed to each organization.
