CONYERS — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called to a house in south Rockdale County Friday after law enforcement discovered what appeared to be a munitions container.
Deputies with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office responded to a call to a vacant house late afternoon Friday on Sherwood Circle, off of Hull Road. The deputies arrived after workers at the house found the suspicious container. The deputies then called for assistance from the GBI Bomb Squad, according to the Sheriff's Office.
The GBI used X-rays on the container which revealed it to be empty and determined to be no danger to the public. All units had left the house by 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Sheriff's Office.
