LAGRANGE -- Former Heritage soccer player Brittany Gray was recently named LaGrange College's offensive player of the year. Gray, a sophomore who helped lead the Patriots to three appearances in the Class AAAA state playoffs, led LaGrange in assists (7) for the second consecutive season and her 13 points were tied for the most on the team.
"Normally, these types of awards are not casually handed out to just anyone, I'm certain that a lot of hard work and sacrifice went into earning these awards," said Heritage coach Chad Suddeth. "Brittany was always a very skillful player for us (and) I'm delighted to see Brittany representing Heritage so well at the next level. Hopefully, this type of recognition inspires our current players and gives them something to strive for."
Gray, who also received Great South Athletic Conference All-Academic honors, scored what was at the time the go-ahead goal in an eventual 3-2 loss to Piedmont College in the GSAC championship game.
