Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith was back at practice Monday night after spending time in a Charlotte hospital Sunday, saying “I’m going to have to evaluate some of the things I do.’’
FLOWERY BRANCH -- Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith is back home after being taken to the hospital in Charlotte, N.C.
The team said Smith was examined for a "non-emergency matter" and returned to Atlanta about 3:30 a.m. Monday on owner Arthur Blank's private jet. No details of the coach's condition were released, other than it was not considered serious.
Smith is set to attend afternoon meetings at the team's suburban training complex, as well as an evening walkthrough. He plans to address the media after the light practice.
The 52-year-old Smith became ill and walked off the team plane after the Falcons' 31-23 win over Carolina on Sunday. Atlanta (8-5) has only three days to prepare for its next game, hosting Jacksonville on Thursday night.
