The Debt Blu-ray (R)
Movie: 4 stars out of 4 Disc: 3 out of 4 Dumped on Labor Day weekend by its studio after several release delays, "The Debt" (a remake of the 2007 Israeli film "Ha-Hov") is a crackling, nail-biting espionage thriller with a water-tight script and dream cast. Helen Mirren and the sublime Jessica Chastain play older and younger versions of Rachel, a former Mossad agent and national hero who must come to terms with her past after a book written by her daughter leads to an uncomfortable reunion with two former professional and romantic partners. Next to "Hugo" it's the best film of 2011 and a must-own for any fan of smart spy flicks. Technical specs: aspect ratio: Widescreen (1080p/2.40:1), audio: English (Dolby DTS-HD MA 5.1), French and Spanish (DTS 5.1), subtitles: English, French and Spanish.
