Mrs. Maylar L. Smith, 73 of Covington passed away December 3, 2011 at Atlanta Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was born in Whiton, Alabama to the late Johnny L. and Lillian Berry Spear She loved crocheting, reading, gardening and picking blue berries with her husband and she loved animals. She is survived by her husband Robert B. Smith of Covington, her children Richard Rains of Acworth, Bobby Huckeba, Greenville, NC., Flora Sparks, Covington, Robert O. Smith, Albertville, AL., David Smith, Covington, Thomas R. Smith, Conyers, Marie Hammonds, Covington, Willie L. Smith, Conyers, Sarah Smith Blankenship, Oxford, Martha Hamrick, Homer, GA., Cynthia D. Macy, Homer, GA., John R. Smith, Covington, her niece Glenda and Tommy Smith of Covington, several other nieces and nephews and many other extended family members and her best canine friend, Blue. Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held Tuesday December 6, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Sidney Bailey officiating.
