MORROW, Ga. (AP) — Morrow's city manager has put Police Chief Jeff Baker on leave without pay after the chief missed a scheduled meeting.
City manager Jeff Eady says Baker skipped a meeting with him on Tuesday. Baker had been on paid administrative leave since he was charged on Nov. 16 with driving his police cruiser while drunk.
Eady changed Baker's administrative leave status to "without pay" on Wednesday, and rescheduled their meeting for Tuesday. He says that's the deadline.
Eady told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/rGGYs9 ) the internal investigation found the chief "in violation of city rules and regulations."
Capt. Greg Tatroe has been named interim head of police during Baker's leave.
