Buford GRIFFIN — Alcovy's softball team got back to playing .500 ball while getting their first Region 3A-AAAA win defeating Griffin 3-1 on Thursday.
The Lady Tigers got all the offensive they needed in the third inning in the win.
Scoring for the Lady Tigers were Jordyn White, Marie Peck and Samantha Cronan. Getting credit for the runs with RBIs were Morgan Mobley, Kia Sorrells and Peck.
Alcovy had 10 hits as a team with Chelsea Murphy and Cronan pacing the team with two hits each. Of Murphy's two hits, one was a double for the only extra-base hit.
Murphy earned the win pitching seven innings in which she faced 26 batters while striking out six batters. She also allowed four hits and hit one batsman.
The Lady Tigers will be back in action on Monday at 6:30 p.m. at Eastside.
