The Covington Family YMCA is offering a Babysitter's Certification course through the American Red Cross on Saturday, Aug. 27. It is for youth ages 11 to 16 and will be held at the YMCA from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $100 for members of the YMCA and $120 for non-members. Snack and drinks will be provided, but participants will need to bring a sack lunch.
The Red Cross Babysitter's Certification can help a babysitter care for children and infants, be a good leader and role model, make good decisions and solve problems and keep themselves well as the children they care for safe.
"We are excited to be offering this certification." said Kacie Brown, YMCA membership director. "We believe this a great opportunity for the youth in our community. This course gives them the knowledge and confidence needed when caring for children as well as the CPR certification that is critical to have when babysitting."
For more information on this certification call the YMCA at 770-787-3908 or email Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org. Registration for this certification can be done at the YMCA or online at ymcaregistration.com. The registration deadline is Wednesday.
