COVINGTON -- A 72-year-old Covington woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon after she lost control of her vehicle on Ga. Highway 212, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
GSP Lt. Paul Cosper said Carol L. Hale was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero around 5:13 p.m. on Ga. Highway 212 traveling north. She was the only person in the vehicle.
Hale's vehicle left the roadway on the right side and when she tried to bring it back onto the roadway, she over-corrected and went to the west shoulder, into a ditch and came to a stop when the car truck a tree at the driver's side door.
The Georgia State Patrol is in charge of the accident investigation.
