Gordon and Sarah Smith of Conyers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 30 at their home surrounded by family and friends. They were married on June 30, 1961 at Crest Hill Baptist Church in Decatur. Gordon is a WWII Army Air Corps veteran and he is a retired tool and dye machinist from Scripto and Cliklock/Woodham companies. Sarah is a retired secretary from the Centers for Disease Control. They have three children: daughter Cindy Culpepper and husband, Alan of Elko, Ga.; daughter Angela Rogero and husband, Joel of Kennesaw and son Chris Smith of Covington. They have three grandchildren: Drew Culpepper, Elaina Culpepper and Olivia Culpepper.
