Gibbs-Alread Engagement

Lawrence and Marian Gibbs of New Orleans, La., announce the engagement of their daughter, Hillary Elyse Gibbs of Athens, to Jonathan Edward Alread of Athens, son of John and Rebecca Alread of Conyers.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Marceleen Miller of New Orleans and the late Gordon Miller and Rita Gibbs of New Orleans and the late Robert Gibbs. She is a 2005 graduate of St. Martin's Episcopal School in New Orleans and a 2009 graduate of Auburn University, where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in public relations with a minor in psychology. She plans to graduate from the University of Georgia, College of Education, in 2012 with a master of arts degree in early childhood education. She is currently employed with Lifespan Montessori as an assistant teacher.

The future groom is the grandson of Kenneth and Rosalie Holmstrand of Covington, the late Thomas Phelps of New Port Richey, Fla., and the late George and Lynda Alread of Martinez. He is a 2007 graduate of Heritage High School. He plans to graduate from the University of Georgia, Lamar Dodd School of Art in 2012 with a bachelor of fine arts degree with an emphasis in photography. He is currently employed with the Georgia Center for Continuing Education as an office assistant.

The couple plans to wed July 23 at the Dan and Frances White Chapel at St. Martin's Episcopal School. A reception will be held at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
