COVINGTON -- What's the secret to success? Covington Chick-fil-A is offering locals a chance to find out while helping a good cause.

For the third consecutive year, the local restaurant is sponsoring the Chick-fil-A Leadercast, to be held Friday, May 6, at Turner Lake Complex. The one-day leadership training and motivational event takes place at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta and features 11 professionals sharing their ideas for success. The cost to attend the Atlanta event is about $200, but locals can watch the simulcast at Turner Lake for $65, which includes breakfast and lunch provided by Chick-fil-A.

All proceeds will benefit Miracle League of Newton County, a nonprofit organization aiming to raise enough funds to build a baseball field for special-needs children.

"Whether you're an emerging leader or already in a leadership position or working your way up the corporate ladder, you're going to walk away with some great motivational thoughts," said Tamara Richardson, chair of Miracle League.

Featured speakers are Dan Cathy, president and COO of Chick-fil-A Inc.; Robin Roberts, anchor of ABC's Emmy Award-winning show, "Good Morning America;" Dave Ramsey, best-selling author and nationally syndicated radio personality; Sir Ken Robinson, best-selling author and leader in development of creativity, innovation and human resources; Mack Brown, head coach of the Texas Longhorns and 2009 Big 12 Coach of the Year; Suzy Welch, television commentator and business journalist; Erin Gruwell, founder and president of The Freedom Writers Foundation; Seth Godin, entrepreneur and marketing expert and author of 12 books including "Linchpin;" John C. Maxwell, leadership expert and author of "21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership;" Frans Johansson, best selling author of "The Medeci Effect;" and Muhtar Kent, chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company.

Breakfast and registration start at 8 a.m. with the event to start at 9 a.m. and run until 4 p.m. Tickets are on sale at Turner Lake Complex, located at 6185 Turner Lake Road or by e-mailing trichardson@co.newton.ga.us.
