Narisa Turner, a 10th-grader in the agricultural education class waters plants for the school's greenhouse sale. In addition to the Eastside sale, Newton High School's FFA is holding its spring plant sale. The sale will include summer bedding plants and ferns, as well as vegetable plants such as tomatoes, squash, cucumber, eggplant, peppers, zipper peas, zucchini and corn. The sale will take place in the Newton High School barn from 3:30 to 6 p.m. today. NHS students will sell items at the Porterdale Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 2, and April 9. Items range in price from 50 cents per 4-inch potted plant to $10 for ferns and a 36-plant flat of vegetables or flowers. Cash or checks made payable to Newton High School are acceptable forms of payment.More like this story
