Newton County Sheriff Ezell Brown and Deputy Ginger Stabile prepare for Saturday's "Take-Back" campaign and urge residents to clean out their closets and medicine chests and safely dispose of outdated or unwanted prescription drugs. The NCSO is joining with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration by participating in the nationside campaign and offering residents a safe way of disposing of medications. Flushing or throwing medications into the trash are not seen as safe ways to dispose of unwanted prescriptions and simply hanging on to them can lead to theft, officials warn. A safe, anonymous disposal site will be available at the Covington Wal-Mart Supercenter from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
